New glossary terms from the vocabulary of how software gets built, prompted by an AI-native SDLC playbook.

Cards

  • SDLC: the stages and the roles that traditionally own them. The example shows the bottleneck moving from building to specifying and reviewing once an agent writes most of the code.
  • PR (also merge request, MR): implemented by GitHub, GitLab and Forgejo.
  • DORA metrics (also DORA): the delivery measures, linked to CI/CD.
  • ORM: promoted from a tooltip. It explains the trade-off (repetitive code saved, query cost hidden, N+1) and links to SQL and to Laravel's Eloquent.
  • SDK: what most code talks to a cloud or model API through. LiteLLM implements one.
  • PII: linked to the features that mask it in CloudWatch Logs, Bedrock Guardrails and LiteLLM's Presidio guardrail. Its summary also explains GDPR's wider "personal data".

CI/CD is now part of SDLC.

Abbreviations: QA, PRD, SHA, UX and GDPR, each used in a new text. UX has nothing in the glossary to link to, so it has no card.

Checked locally: check-glossary and the quiz tests. The page itself has not been looked at in a browser yet.

SDLC and PRs are the vocabulary of how software gets built, and DORA's
metrics are how a team sees whether its delivery got faster or worse.
ORM was only a tooltip; as a card it explains the trade-off behind using
one and links to SQL and to Laravel's Eloquent.

QA, PRD and SHA join the abbreviations, used in the new cards' texts.
Add SDK and PII to the glossary, and UX and GDPR as abbreviations

Both came up in the AI-native SDLC material and are worth a card: an SDK
is what most code talks to a cloud or model API through, and PII is what
leaks through logs and LLM prompts. PII links to the CloudWatch, Bedrock
and LiteLLM features that mask it.

UX has no tool in the glossary to link to, so it is an abbreviation,
used in SDLC's list of roles. GDPR explains PII's wider EU counterpart.
